This required us to have all team members involved at one time or another. Multiple superintendents and project engineers were engaged to cover the work shifts necessary to meet the completion date. The A/E on the job specified a glass storefront system with entry door at each of the 24 offices. Upon estimating the project the owner was not satisfied with the cost of the specified storefronts. Synergy General Contracting LLC. value engineered the storefronts and found a local manufacturer that provided the same design, quality and functionality. This comparable substitute cost 40% less than the specified storefronts, and since it was locally manufactured was delivered 4 weeks sooner than the specified storefronts. The alternate product was researched, submitted to the A/E, approved, ordered, fabricated, and installed. The owner was able to save a substantial amount of money and complete the job under budget.
